American Public Gardens Association On-line Community Code of Conduct & Terms (Updated April 2025)

American Public Gardens Professional Communities is a service provided to all American Public Gardens Association (APGA) members as an online medium for networking and exchanging ideas and best practices. Opinions and views expressed within the communities are solely those of the author and do not represent APGA.

To ensure the best possible experience for all members, we have established guidelines for participation rooted in American Public Gardens Association Code of Professional Ethics Policy

By joining and using our Community Forums, you agree that you have read and will follow theses rules and guidelines below.

  • Share your messages and content only to the most appropriate platforms. Please note that many members are part of multiple communities, posting to 1-3 community forums per message should reach all the members you seek to get feedback from.
  • Be courteous. Please ask participants for permission to republish their words outside of the forums and APGA community events (especially if elsewhere would be a publicly viewable setting).
  • APGA reserves the right to monitor these discussion groups and remove any content deemed inappropriate based on the discretion of staff only. Inappropriate content includes but is not limited to sales-oriented information, unapproved job/internship listings, lewd, profane, derogatory, or violent comments, personal attacks, aggressive behavior, and Spam. If you would like to post a job or internship, please submit your listing via the appropriate form found through the Career Center

APGA will:

  • monitor forum postings and respond to user complaints about specific postings
  • remove a posting if it violates the code of conduct and terms
  • occasionally display, copy, publish, and distribute information posted within the forums for the purposes of marketing and encouraging member usage
